our bundle of joy

Oh dear! I think MN has turned his place into a mini safari of his own!

So we already bought 7 fishes Wednesday night.

Yesterday evening, he bought two cute orange-y tabby cats!

Aiyaiyaiyai!

I was overly excited and joyful upon hearing their voices on the phone when MN gave me a ring at the office. My heart just melted! The day felt so long and I can’t wait to rush to his place and say hi to the babies!

The two tabby kitties are 6 months old twin with orange fur, white ‘stockings’ and pink rose-y nose. One of them has a long tail while the other one has hers short. We haven’t name them just yet, for the time being its ‘kontot’ and ‘woncit’ :P

We adopted the two as their previous owner passed away recently. The two sweethearts were hiding when I came in to say hi. We played hide-and-seek for almost half an hour, trying to get them out of their comfort zone. It looked like they already picked their spots around the house too; so cute!

A day around them, I already felt so nervous. Lots of questions popped in my head: ‘will the kids like it in here?’ ‘why are they not eating the food?’ Having the two little princesses in our life means we will have to juggle with bigger responsibility. We need to provide them with a good place to live in, which means MN has to make more space for them to move and stretch about. MN bought a scratching pole so that they leave the furniture alone. Luckily for us, they are so well-behaved. If not I think they’ll drive MN crazy cleaning up poops!

Thelma and The Fish Tank

Yay! A new toy added into the collection; a Olympus Pen EE S bought for RM50! She’s so cool looking that I decided to name her Thelma. Imagine Thelma being a bond girl from her era. Haha. The Pen series is a family of half-frame cameras made from 1959 to beginning of the 80s and Thelma was born in 1962.

Sweet, lovely things keep popping around. Besides Thelma, MN surprised me with a fish tank yesterday. I leaped in joy when I see it sitting on the table. No fish just yet as we have to wait for the cute tiny grass to grow within two weeks time. Oh, but we already have two corals planted inside the tank. Planning to keep gold fish (mine) and ghost fish (MN’s) as pets. So cuteee lah!

MN has to keep ‘em for me at his place for the time being. Will visit ‘em fishes whenever I have the time!

chill and unwind.

Finally, a relaxing day at work! Since I got a few hours in hand before the day starts to get busy again, rummage through folders and files for photos to edit for personal use. Work is super-busy but I’m loving it everyday. I’m draining physically but I guess it comes with the work.

In between the busy schedule, I have fun unwinding with MN and Han Ghazi last week. Crashing over her place is one of my fav thing to do of late. MN and I will watch the telly while the big sister have fun editing pictures and yell ‘omg omg’.

Having Han and Elyna are like having two big sisters who’s always gonna watch my back and be my shoulder to cry on. I have two ‘big bro’s; Eka and Muzzo and to have two big sisters added in the ever growing ‘family’ is a big bonus. I’m grateful to have them in my life, especially during my roughest, toughest time.

Speaking of sisters, met my best girlfriend last night. Have not seen her in ages! Crazy event schedule kept her away from me. I miss everything about her; the silly jokes, the giggles, the gossips. Girrrrlfriends!

Chatted up with Agam and Adrian, my friends from Jakarta. They make me miss the place a lot. Gonna meet Adrian tomorrow and I might introduce Brownie to him since he loves photography. Good thing that I can now use facebook to chat with my friends from all around.

Looks like I still have a handful stuff to do for end of May before June comes knocking. I’m designing more and more stuff for my portfolio and hope to hit interviews with a strong one. I had to thank one of my dear flickr friend who has been helping me with a few recommendation to ad agencies. Such a dear soul.

Oh, June is going to be a great month! I smell road trips to Penang, White Shoes and The Couples Company’s concert in Singapore and lots of birthday celebrations coming my way. Yes, I remember your birthday, Wa.

I can’t wait for two more photo shoots with Han. It’s always great to work alongside creative people like her. I’m keeping mum but keep your eyes open on this space for news :P

I believe in good karma and laws of attraction. I’m bursting with happiness that makes me wanna stick a flower in my hair and dance around in circles. You know the feeling?

.three things.

three things that never fails to make my day:

1 - cute cats
2 - little kids
3 - his annoying 'sexual seduction' dance

happy monday. have a lovely weekend ahead :)

blog!

I chuckled whenever I look at my blog’s header. Should have take it down now but I don’t have any new design to replace it.

Someone convince me once, that blog is only meant for boring, single people. I doubt him.

But I (half) agree with him now, silently. I used to be that boring, single person who blog craps to feed my own ego and to kill time. It seems like the best way to vent my anger. All those in-your-face entries etc etc. Thinking back, I think its coward to hide behind blogs. Yea, it’s a nice boost to my ego but its unhealthy.

I tried to avoid that since I got back from Jakarta. I practiced my writing skills, do research and planned on ideas. I think these are very important to better myself. Everything else is just mechanics. I love facts and stay away from fictions (which I used to do too). I still wiffle-waffle sometimes though, which I hate.

I’m still finding my style of writing as much as I’m concern about my content. It feels great to have people coming up to me and say ‘I like your writing.’ I appreciate all the kind words.

I have regular readers to my blog too. You know how freak I am with stalkers right? I once thought a sweet lady to be a stalker. She then admits to be a fan of my blog and photography. To this young girl, sorry ya?

A friend of mine has started her own wedding blog which I think is totally sweet. Hmm, makes me think ‘maybe I should open one soon..’ :P Pfft. Maybe not. I’ve hold up my travel blog for quite a while now. Should focus on that one first.

There are lots of opinions when it comes to blogging. A plethora of discussion continues on all the tinge of writing a great blog. Is it the headline? The content? Or the way you end your post?

Whatever the tips and tricks may be, I will try to write as often as I could. Not entirely a promise, okay? Take note of the bold word

:P

meet brownie

I have been frequenting my favorite flea market on my free weekends of late, paving my way to find interesting antiques and collectible items. It all started when MN found his old Russian camera from the Zorki series at a very reasonable price. Since then, he has been dragging me there to find more (useable) antique cameras. I just let him enjoy his moments while I look for other (useable) collectibles. I collect ancient playing cards. I have nearly 12 of ‘em in my collection now. One of my favorite is a Malaysian made cards back in the 50s with ‘Daun Terup Chop Kuda’ written on it. All this playing cards are like babies to me.

I have always been fascinated by flea markets. I told MN it almost feels like a second home for us. Being surrounded by a sea of junk while discovering hidden treasures, we never grow tired looking at things, going from one level to another.

My dear boyfriend has been spending a lot on old cameras. One of his passion that I always admire. He could spend hours and hours contentedly attend to all his camera’s need. What do you mean I feel jealous? *snorts*

I’m no collector though, most probably because:

- I don’t have the money to buy them.

- MN always see them first before I get the chance to even glance at it.

- I don’t want to strangle MN to steal the camera away from him.

- I’m just lazy, okay? It needs lots of patience to take care of all this old-school cameras. MN has it, I don’t.

Financial consideration aside, I made an exception to the rule last Saturday. I knew it for sure when MN dragged me (again) to the flea market he was actually out on the hunt again. Usually, it never really excites me to hold any old cameras. I often leave that part to MN The Expert. But there it was sitting on an antique radio looking so very cute and happy. My hand just went out to reach him and sparkles of lights flashing when we look at each other. It was love at first sight with Brownie and I. I knew it by heart that I just need to bring him home with me even if MN explodes in envy.

Isn’t he handsome?

He is a steal at only RM70 and comes with an awesome carry casing. Kodak Brownie 127, this is the first model from 1952. I totally love the retro look with cool looking brash coloured faceplate and white winding knob. It is so me! I don’t have to think much to shoot using Brownie. Brownie is still in pretty great condition, whoever the previous owner is must be a loving person ey? Brownie is the simple and inexpensive camera version made by Kodak intended to be a camera that everyone could afford to buy and use. I learnt later on that my Brownie is the rarest of the set. I’m just pretty damn lucky to have him for THAT reasonable of price. I cant argue more with the seller.

MN got a Nikon EM, me with me Brownie…we’re happy people who loves junks!

taking it easy, with poise!

This is so nice.

It’s nearly three months of living a quiet and laidback life. Carving out some alone-time is definitely worth the silence, I must say. Keep telling myself its okay to pull out the plug once in a while.

Everything is falling nicely into place and I couldn’t be having a lovelier moment than this. Alhamdullilah.

Work, however, is always tense. I’m trying to keep up with the new workload. It’s a misery that the other designer had left. Taking over a new job is not an easy task. There’s a plan of shifting to another creative environment and taking on a few advices received, I’m pretty sure a fresh working surroundings would guarantee an innovative creativity growth for me.

Surviving on lotsa happy surprises and hugs for the time being. The last surprise was my favorite hello panda fell from up above and onto my lap. Whew.

Had an awesome photoshoot last Saturday with Han Ghazi and MN. Starting the day off with lovely breakfast prepared by my sweetheart; Han and I was so eager to go out and see what we can do with ideas. We didn’t want to waste the day so we kicked start the session as early as noon. There were a lot of cheerful mood and positive energy going on that day. I can see Han and MN focusing on their creative side of things, which inspired me a lot. We waited until ideas are solidified before putting them all into action. The result was of course FANTASTIC!

I have little idea how crazy modeling could be by I do know now. Trying to steady your balance on a 3inch high heel under the hot hot sun while maintaining your poise is certainly not easy. Little fresh air, stuffy…by the end of the first session I nearly black out. I got so dizzy that I feel like I was choking my own breath. Modeling is crazy and therefore I could never see myself doing it professionally. One has to have the patience, high stamina, great personality and attitude to be able to do it perfectly.

But I’ll do it for good friends, provided they have wicked ideas *grins*

Great photoshoot, great lunch, great conversations, great dinner…by the end of the day after looking at all the awesome shots we have, I have no complaints anymore whatsoever.

Life is totally wonderful with less drama and more inspirational photoshoots.
