Mad week!

Whoo.
Whirlwind.

Ever since I joined WOMB everything seems to be turning upside down, in a good way. Work has been nothing but madness and I'm loving it. Its the kinda job I've always yearning for. Its a pretty cool environment here, I especially love the big Lego Santa at the entrance. Humming Christmas song each time I arrive at the door.

Advertising is super fun. Playing with ideas and finding creative solutions. I fancy the fact that my creative head is also a Sagittarian. You can imagine.

My birthday was an absolute wonderful moment for this year. MN came for merisik and I couldn't ask for a better gift.

Apart from that, my sister bought me a lovely gold necklace as my engagement/birthday gift which made me all teary eyes. My bosses; Ben and Sai Meng surprised me with a small yummylicious chocolate cake during lunch. We had 'em while Ben reminiscing his high-school rebellious memories. 8-ish; my girlfriends arranged a surprise birthday dinner by dragging me out of the office to a cosy, quiet restaurant (best kept secret, they said) in the hearts of Subang and bought me an old-skool looking brownie cake with a cute angel doll on top.

It's all great, you see. I'm grateful every minute.

It's Thursday and everyone's looking forward for the weekend. Artrage Lab @ Soho KL and FJ Benjamin Sale. All this ongoing sales are the reason I'm longing for a quiet weekend at home.

26 and living it up

Happy birthday, me.

I'm 18 again today.

How are you? How's the weather?

To sum up last week's event - first, storm hits from Monday to Friday. Then, it was all snowy on the weekend and today its all raining.

Don't ask me how I survived the sudden changes.

P/s Did you notice anything in my entries? It's becoming like me - short and simple.

Is it me or this room is so cold tonight?

It's four in the morning and I'm still at work.

I heard heavy pour outside. Cant stop thinking of soft cushy pillows and warm blanket.

And him.
Have you seen Jordy's card yet? He's doing well and I feel totally happy for him.

And why is it that I always have trouble uploading pictures to my blog from a mac?

Jordy, The One Eyed Superhero

Which is more vain? Me or my cat, Chet?

Click on image to view it large and see what she's doing.

I'm so in love with my two cats. They're beautiful, clever and witty, not to mention camwhores. I love it when they give me the 'nose-kiss', the i-love-you-mommy blinking eyes, face-sniff me and to see their tail twitching for excitement when I'm back from work is just awesome.

The other day MN showed me a blog of a surviving cat named Jordy who is a cancer survivor. Jordy belongs to a photographer, Craig Shillington
who is also a fellow Flickrian. Jordy is one strong soul and so brave. One picture of him playing with a tennis ball (see below) just makes me think of how positive and lively this cat is despite the pain and suffering he's going through.

I wanted to write more on Jordy but whenever I picture the baby in my head my heart weakens and my eyes gets a little teary.

Please, please, please have a look on the blog. Just follow this link to see the progress of this one-eyed superhero. There's also a fund set-up by Craig to help raise money for Jordy's operation.

MN, me and our cats (Chet, Tot, Che' Tom, Momok, Bubu, Abe and Sooree) are going to make a sweet lovely card for Jordy and send it over with lots of hugs and kisses.

We are praying for Jordy to get well soon! We hope so much for better news.

Pop!

It's my third entry for the day. I'm kinda bored so I google-d popcorn on the net and found this lovely recipe:

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn
* 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
* 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste

* add to recipe box Add to Recipe Box
My folders:
* add to shopping list Add to Shopping List
* add a personal note Add a Personal Note

DIRECTIONS

1. In a cup or small bowl, mix together the unpopped popcorn and oil. Pour the coated corn into a brown paper lunch sack, and sprinkle in the salt. Fold the top of the bag over twice to seal in the ingredients.
2. Cook in the microwave at full power for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes, or until you hear pauses of about 2 seconds between pops. Carefully open the bag to avoid steam, and pour into a serving bowl.

I have a microwave at home waiting to be used. Wonder where I can find the unpopped popcorn from. Or should I just buy McD's?

Free Awesome Paper Projects

Went to meet my favorite hairstylist, Mika for a trim.

A good friend of mine asked me out to a club tonight which is a means for me to play dress-up. I thought I was getting old since all I love doing nowadays is spending time at home painting, reading and doing paper projects.

I remember when I was a little kid, I love to play with paper dolls. The cut out ones that comes with gorgeous outfits, handbags and sometimes little kitties so you can dress them all up pretty. It costs about RM0.20 each, if i'm not mistaken.

I found them again on the internet and yea if you're
into these things, either by natural proclivity or by default, you might want to check this thing out! There's tons of paper projects ideas and one of them is to make your own toy theater! I got a great link for a free one here from the same site and I can't wait to try!

This gorgeous paper doll is from Oliver + S.

It absolutely blows my mind how many free projects and ideas are out there like this. I almost choked digging through all this vintage (mostly French) ephemera and the like.

Amazing.

Lawak!

Gosh.

I just found out another fella was actually stalking my blog and flickr all this while!

I appreciate your time, really!

All You Need Is Moolah!

Greetings on this rainy Monday evening!

I am stealing a quick moment to munch some cookies and do catch up with the good ol' blog. Weekend was pretty slow and uneventful which is a bit of relief on my part - the past few weeks have been a little bit nuts so I decided to cut myself some slack and just hang around at home bumming my ass- had a cosy time with MN, our cats and some close friends.

Looks like I've favored a small chinese-muslim restaurant where I live. The crabmeat fried rice is superlicious, so I brought Elyna to the place on Saturday evening when she announced that she was in dire for a char kuew tiao. The food's fantastic and best of all; its hidden far away from any of those bustling hip joints.

Sunday was wicked. My best friend Zatyl asked me out for a brunch date and I made her wait for a good 15 minutes (sorry babe) as I was stuck with some chores. Brought her to one of my favorite place in town where MN and I often have our Sunday lunch together. The weather was so good - breezy, soft murmurs of the leaves blowing in the wind- and we had a chill time just us girls.

That was when she dragged me to the Designer's sale (which I already went the day before but didn't buy anything) eventhough I was pretty reluctant at first.
I thought about it for a millisecond about the appropriateness of not going as i need to save up and everything, but said to myself 'the heck, just go!'.

MN tagged along later on and as soon as we got there, I was surprised that they cut off 50% more on the discounted items! Bonus! I was pretty low on cash but MN insisted on paying. He even helped me finding some very sexy looking tops a size 0, carried my handbag and was being a sweetheart; patiently waiting for me to finish with my shopping.

Got my hand on three lovely tops from CalvinKlein, DKNY and A|X all for RM115 only (the actual discounted price before the slashing was RM250)! I, oh so wanted to buy a lovely dress from MaxMara but twas way out of my reach - RM459 after less. Another lovely grab was a beige chiffon top and an elf-looking wool jacket from DKNY which i thought would look so cute if pair with my hot pants but I managed to pass that and just be satisfied with the other tops.

Later that evening, I was told by Zatyl that the shopping spree was actually a surprise from MN and that the day was actually planned without my knowledge at all and yea you can tell how smitten I was. I love them both to the moon and back!

Unrelated, I am listening to some slow jams and love it immensely.

Enjoy your days ahead and watch out for those fall sales - your boyfriend might have some surprise for you too!
