I am bored to wits at work.
I need changes.
I need new ideas.
I need refreshment.
I need new fun stuff to do.
Like, perhaps, sewing?
But I am terrible at sewing. So I don’t think I would buy any of those refined sewing machines and start sewing curtains just to satisfy myself. I always suck at sewing ever since high school days. I’d rather fix a light bulb or make a handmade wooden music box than sewing.
Anyways, I was thinking of finding a way out of my boredom. So yesterday whilst working, I have curi-curi changed the look of my blog and its all white now. Kinda like the clean look, though. I owe my blog a new header but first, I must find a real purpose for it.
Frantically, my brain began to search for ideas to re-vamp being ibah. What should I change? The look? The content? The function? My writing-style? Point is; my blog has been just an unproductive blog since 2004. It doesn’t feed my dear readers with any information whatsoever. Perhaps this blog’s main intention is to keep my friends updated with my daily rant. But comes 2008, I need more.
I have been doing a little bit of research on travel writing of late. There’s just something fascinating about it that is magnetic. Obviously, my first try on it wasn’t that good (refer 365 days entry) and it frustrates me a bit. The Fraser Hill entry wasn’t that well either, to be honest. All I want is to write an excellent review on places I go to, spilling tips on good descent places to eat (I am particularly good at this), share information on budget road trip, accommodation, transportation etc etc! It has forever been my secret passion to be a writer.
I talked to my dear friend late last night about this, anxiously telling her that I have turned into a nutcase just thinking of what to do with my blog and writing skill. She agreed on the nutcase part. After a little bit of discussion in between gossiping, I have a few ideas of how to blog by the book. Ehem.
Simple, informative yet clever.
But then again, I loveeee to write lengthy entry! I remembered what my ex used to say: keep your writing simple, b. That was when I started to use backspace more frequently.
For a start, I am writing using verdana (as if it matters?) and use proper line spacing (seriously, does it matter?).
I am especially determined to practice my travel writing, still. Hopefully, I could polish my flair on writing other reviews too. I need a real literature workout here! I know I’ll cringe, wince and roll on the floor to find ideas to make this happen but hey, dreams aren’t just dreams.
Please pray for me. If not, I might just stick to visual than written words.
