Jordy, The One Eyed Superhero

Which is more vain? Me or my cat, Chet?

Click on image to view it large and see what she's doing.

I'm so in love with my two cats. They're beautiful, clever and witty, not to mention camwhores. I love it when they give me the 'nose-kiss', the i-love-you-mommy blinking eyes, face-sniff me and to see their tail twitching for excitement when I'm back from work is just awesome.

The other day MN showed me a blog of a surviving cat named Jordy who is a cancer survivor. Jordy belongs to a photographer, Craig Shillington
who is also a fellow Flickrian. Jordy is one strong soul and so brave. One picture of him playing with a tennis ball (see below) just makes me think of how positive and lively this cat is despite the pain and suffering he's going through.

I wanted to write more on Jordy but whenever I picture the baby in my head my heart weakens and my eyes gets a little teary.

Please, please, please have a look on the blog. Just follow this link to see the progress of this one-eyed superhero. There's also a fund set-up by Craig to help raise money for Jordy's operation.

MN, me and our cats (Chet, Tot, Che' Tom, Momok, Bubu, Abe and Sooree) are going to make a sweet lovely card for Jordy and send it over with lots of hugs and kisses.

We are praying for Jordy to get well soon! We hope so much for better news.

Awwwwww Ibah and Woodnocks!!!!

Ibah!! Thank you so much for what you have done! I appreciate that so much.
I think the more people that read Jordy's story the better. We all need to start doing things for our little babies ... more than what we have been.
Jordy has been a constant source of Love and Joy for me since he came into my life 14 years ago. Never would I have ever imagined he would get skin cancer and eventually be taken over by it. I am not looking forward to the next few months. :( I think knowing his time is drawing near is harder than waking one day and finding him asleep forever. And I am the one that needs to make the decision when the time is here. I can wish a lot of stuff ... if I had put more sunscreen on him more often, kept him inside more. But that won't help now. So for now I really just want to let as many people as I can read his story and understand that we need to love our little fur babies as much as we can, because they love us and trust us unconditionally!! Thank you so much for helping to spread that story, Jordy and I appreciate that so much!!!!

Love and best wishes for you,

Craig and Jordy. xXx

Craig- Its our deepest pleasure to share the news of Jordy's condition. We could never think what or how we will take it if the same thing happen to Chet and Tot. This is the least we could do to show Jordy our love and support.

No other words can make this easy for you for the time being. But we sincerely hope that you will hang in there and be strong for Jordy. Our prayers will always be with you and your little alien.

Chet and Tot send their wet-nose kisses for Jordy :)

This one is from Vaneska Thomz who sent me a flickr mail as she can't seem to post up her comment here.

Van, Jordy and Craig, this is for you:

This is great Ibah... i do agree that the more people read about Jordy the better.. Craig and Jordy are wonderful testaments to unconditional love, and it makes our lives fuller to feel and be reminded of this love that is so pure and enriching. Through their story not only do i treasure my own cats more, i found myself falling in love with Jordy as well. I wish things could have gone differently and my heart aches so bad for Jordy and Craig.. I cannot imagine myself being in their position and all i can do is to lend my support and to pray that Jordy will feel no pain from now on and that they both find peace, strength, courage and love with each other to carry on this tough journey.
