.figuring figur8ight and the number 25.

The reason why i wanted to check out the figure8ight event last Saturday is because of Reza Salleh. I kid. Ermm maybe not. Okay, okay i kid. I was there in search for some ideas and just to have that nostalgic trip back to my older days of being younger. Yes, i miss being nineteen.

Yana and I was just in time for a free Junk T-shirt and mag. Mashing in to the counter,we managed to grab the freebies. Thank you, my dear zatyl. If it wasnt for you.

Its a fun event, I must say. A small but fiesty get together. CM Annexe, the small and not-so-safe place to accomodate a large crowd was packed with teens in 'double F'; funky and fashionable. These emo style obsessed kids made me feel old! Everyone was in pretty much the same haircut and accessories. But uhm twas a nice nice feeling to be surrounded by artsy tartsy designs from up on the wall to down on the floor. The warm fuzzy feeling i got was strikingly familiar. Yep, the design vibe. My head felt a sensational vibration as ideas smashing in into my brain.

Met three friendly indonesian art lovers who abundantly decided to go against the mainstream; dynna, luki and tania from Monik Clothing. They proudly owned the label Monik&Celtic. "Come to Bandung!" said Dynna. And after a good few minutes of chit-chat, laugh, envying her "3 hari untuk selamanya" notepad and taking pictures together, she really made us eager to go to Bandung and get intimate with their horse-y Jolly! I couldnt help but to admire their passion. Check out their cool design stuff here!

Yours truly also got herself a CD of the local band Hujan. Not that I fancy popping my cherry-ears to the sounds of young talented local bands (i'm 25 and ageing, sweetie) but hey if you are the only one who feel old amongst 153 restless crowds rocking in with the beat and there's not much you can do to hide your grey hair, you might as well join in the fun and sing along!

Sunday however snapped me back into reality. Was at Ira's for a stay-over. The three ageing and clueless laydees: Ira, Ayu and I headed down to the market to buy some groceries. Mission for the day: masak tomyam! I think, by the time we left the uncle jual sayur; half of the market knew we are going to cook tomyam. Auhuhuhuhu.

Its a miracle nobody burnt down the kitchen and the 'kiub pati ayam knorr' still not outdated. It has been forever since the last time i had a proper home cooked meal with the girls. Invited Azrul and Ayu's boyfriend Mus over (poor thing didnt know they were victims) and tralalalaa it was a great luncheon! Little that the gentlemen knew, while they were watching TV, Ira and I had a panic attack after tasting the why-this-taste-so-funny tomyam. Luckily nobody ends up rushing to the loo.

All in all, it was really fun. I am so overwhelmed :)
