A Worthless Trip To The Cinema

I have stop going to the cinema for quite a while now. Not because I am turning into an old fart but because I rather enjoy watching DVD in the comfort of my own home while snuggling inside my warm blanket with chips in my hand and the freedom to pause randomly to take a leak than having to spend my RM10 just to tolerate with annoying audience at the movie.

Going to the cinema is more often than not, a treat for me. When MN wanted to let me watch Robert Pattinson’s sexy pelvic bone and Taylor Lautner’s hot body as a part of my birthday treat, we decided to head on to the GSC with the least crowd.

The crowd was, as we’ve guessed; not as much but hey never underestimate what a small crowd can do.

The fortune did not favor the birthday girl this time. It turned out that the seat we booked happened to be right in front of a bunch of uncivilized idiots. Or, at least the parents were the one who were conspicuously and tastelessly indecent.

Some people can’t seem to or rather choose not to conform to society’s civility or demeanor which I find quite astonishing, really. Is it that difficult to be courteous and considerate with other citizen in public spaces?

The bunch of people I stated above consisted of a parent and their 7yr old daughter (or younger, I assumed). Yes, you may have this question popped up in your mind just about now ‘What on earth were the parents thinking, bringing their small child to watch New Moon?’ I shall leave that doubt aside.

So mommy and daddy were talking and commenting harshly at the film from the moment Edward came into sight until the end where – okay, I wont spill no beans, don’t worry; the credits appeared on the screen. ‘Cerita ni bodo la’ ‘Cerita ni merepek betul!’ ‘Bella ni bangang’’Ah, buang masa aku je tengok cerita ni’ ‘Apa ni asyik bercium je!’ I can’t concentrate on the movie at all! Even after I made a loud ‘SHHHH’ the daddy still kept on sharing his worthless two cents with the rest of us in the theatre in the loudest voice possible.

It’s the time like this that I feel an awful urge to stand up and slap these annoying pricks on the head that treats everyone else as if they don’t exist.

The peak of the infuriating scene came right after the movie finished when the mommy stood up and said in the manner of an absolute mad but proud retard – ‘Apa la ending dia! Nak bakar panggung ah macam ni!’

Excuse me? Did you not know that they have four series for this movie? And if you don’t like it because its crappy and has a lot of kissing scene that is not suitable for your kid’s viewing then WHY DID YOU BRING THEM TO WATCH NEW MOON in the first place?

I just don’t get it. Why. WHY? WHYYYYYY?

*dumbfounded*

Perhaps, I should just enjoy watching DVD in the comfort of my own home while snuggling up inside my warm blanket with the freedom to pause randomly to take a leak, and save my RM10 for the chips.
