2 things

I’m happy for two things:

1- I found most of my ‘beyond reach’ schoolmates on fb
2- I was assigned by my boss to do a food photography for his client

Did a test shot yesterday and the result was a bit disappointing. I wish the pies could move and have expressions and wont look too depressed. This is my first try on food photography so I’m more than determine to make it work. If I could do this, that means another door of opportunity is going to open up for me.

Food styling and photography is not an easy task to do. Played with the most minimal of things- a table mat and that was it. Its a ‘if you have nothing to say, than shut up’ kinda thing. I did a little bit of research on the net for some food photographer and I have to say, I favor
Lara Ferroni. She makes a boring marcona almonds and mushrooms look amazing effortlessly.

She cooks, she travels, she takes breathtaking pictures and she gets free food samples.

Isn’t that great? She even makes me love serif fonts!

Everyday Is A Valentine

I found Paolo Pellegrin and fell completely for his work. Not your daily dose of pwetty-chirpy pictures though.

MN came to me yesterday, after a long hours at the Malaysian Open and said ‘Bazuki from Reuters says hello.’

‘Bazuki?’
‘Bazuki from Reuters’ he repeated.
‘I know him! I know him!’
‘Yea, apparently he came across your street shots in flickr and love it.’
‘Serious shit?’
‘Yeap. He told you to keep up the good work.’

Damn, if the award winning Bazuki Muhammad can remember my name and my work, I sure is stoopid to give up my talent now. I haven’t been picking up the camera and really shoot for the longest time of my life - a month. And I feel terrible and lost and all feelings mix together. Till up to a point of giving it all up.

Reason number one being ‘losing it’.
Reason number two being ‘PMS’.

I can’t imagine my life without photography. My flickr has been really quiet but now I'm determine again to keep it update. Hee. Sorry about the bragging. LOL.

How’s your Valentine?

I cant remember the last time I celebrate. Not that it matters anyway. Ok hang on, I think I do. Of course! The last time was this! And who knows I’m marrying the guy I worked with on Valentines last year? LOL. Okay, I see a hand coming up. Gosh, put it down already.

Ah, a list from Valentine 2008. Interesting:

I look after myself. I stand up for myself. – 100 cokie points.
I hang out with my best-friends after work instead of sulking at home with my teddie. - 50 cokie points
I do road trip on weekends. - 100 cokie points
I pose up/take photos on certain Sundays – 100 cokie points
I ngopi with my ngopi friends on certain nights till early a.m. – 100 cokie points
I eat sushi without guilty -50 cokie points
I hunt for dresses without having to worry if anyone likes it or not -50 cokie points
I have the license to super flirt with any guy I like -200 cokie points

Oh, I just realized I spelled cookie wrongly, Ooops, my bad. But anyway, out of boredom and because I’m still pretty much on PMS...I create a new list for this year:

Someone takes really good care of me and still let me be me. – 200 cookie points.

I hang out with my best-friends after work, still. And if there’s no one to hang out with, I have him. Or we hang out together with our friends. And my friends love him hihi - 200 cookie points

I do road trip on weekends with him and don’t have to drive - 200 cookie points

He takes pictures of me Monday to Sunday – 200 cookie points

I ngopi with my ngopi friends on certain nights till early a.m. with him. Feel safe and protected. Ngopi friends love him too – 200 cookie points

I eat sushi without guilty and he loves sushi too -200 cookie points

I hunt for dresses without having to worry if he doesn’t like it or not coz he loves me nonetheless-200 cookie points

I lost the license to super flirt with any guy I like -0 cookie points

I don’t really bother about the last one though. Hahah. He still let me admire any cute guys I like :P

Happy Belated Valentine's everyone!

*pouts*

The small images I saw on flickr site annoys me sometimes. But the idea of putting up large images in my blog makes me cringe too. Wanna build my own website....no money plak.

Haih.

So I ended up starting another blog, yes yet again, with large images big enough for you to view it and really have a look at it. I guess, if one respect one's work....they wont go right+click and copy :P

This is going to be my temporary website for my work. I've tried to use wordpress but keeps coming back to blogger.

I'm taking my time to update as its a bit of a hassle to transfer all my works to its new home, so lower your expectations, please. It's really going to take a little while now, but I'll definitely give you a buzz once its fully up and running!

Feel free to follow, I'm all glad to check back and link :)

Actually..

..I have absolutely nothing to say that's of your interest.

Jordy, The One Eyed Superhero

Which is more vain? Me or my cat, Chet?

Click on image to view it large and see what she's doing.

I'm so in love with my two cats. They're beautiful, clever and witty, not to mention camwhores. I love it when they give me the 'nose-kiss', the i-love-you-mommy blinking eyes, face-sniff me and to see their tail twitching for excitement when I'm back from work is just awesome.

The other day MN showed me a blog of a surviving cat named Jordy who is a cancer survivor. Jordy belongs to a photographer, Craig Shillington
who is also a fellow Flickrian. Jordy is one strong soul and so brave. One picture of him playing with a tennis ball (see below) just makes me think of how positive and lively this cat is despite the pain and suffering he's going through.

I wanted to write more on Jordy but whenever I picture the baby in my head my heart weakens and my eyes gets a little teary.

Please, please, please have a look on the blog. Just follow this link to see the progress of this one-eyed superhero. There's also a fund set-up by Craig to help raise money for Jordy's operation.

MN, me and our cats (Chet, Tot, Che' Tom, Momok, Bubu, Abe and Sooree) are going to make a sweet lovely card for Jordy and send it over with lots of hugs and kisses.

images from Craig.

We are praying for Jordy to get well soon! We hope so much for better news.

Supah!

Had the happiest weekend.

Great Diwali photowalk - me happy with the shots
Great photoshoot - client is happy with the shots
Great shopping - taukeh is happy counting money behind the counter

Was seen stalking people with my camera on Saturday along Jalan Masjid India and Brickfields. Had a small family gathering on Sunday, okay not quite small as we had aunts and uncles and cousins from all over but twas a merry one with lots of great food - ketupat, rendang, sambal kacang, kuah lodeh, nasi minyak and ayam masak merah, laksa, lemang....shall I continue?

Managed to catch MPH's Warehouse Sale before the gath. Was there for about half an hour as I was in a bit of a hurry. Got this three with a lovely price:

1- The Curious Incident of The Dog In The Night Time - Mark Haddon
2- A Spot of Bother - Mark Haddon
3- The Life And Times of A Thunderbolt Kid - Bill Bryson

I'm starting with the first one. Planning to find the talking horse and the sad girl and the village under the sea by Haddon.

The Day I Was Feeling Lucky

Today must be my lucky day.

I've been under a lot of pressure with work of late. Learned that gathering content is not as easy as it may seem. I've been dealing with a lot of slow replies from all the distributors which is totally frustrating.

My last straw came about yesterday - one email to GSC for a quick follow up.

This morning I finally received a reply from their distributor team which was a very very favorable one on my part. They will get the trailers ready by next week and have it sent to us monthly.

Now i believe, there's always a silver lining waiting on a cloudy day.

I am so going to reward myself with something today. Cookies? Mmm....tempting.

I was out the whole day yesterday with no mood whatsoever, trying to get my life sorted. I was generally pissed and disssapointed.

Went to the hypermarket with MN and Elyna. Picked up a lot of unwanted candies and chocs. The three of us was sitting on the bench over-looking an empty parking lot, eating them tootsie rolls when she turned around and said 'this feels good....with friends hanging out and do nothing'.

It sounds like a line from a movie scene with her wearing baju kurung and me looking so miserable.

Also, got a friendly reply from Robert who's interested with my street shots. Oh man, if there's any opportunity that he could help me to exhibit them in Berlin...i'll run around in the street and yell 'Mak, anak omak dah berjayo!'

My Bon Odori picture was published online. Seen on Reuters.

It's nothing but heck...its not everyday I see my name credited on reuters. Tsk, tsk. The height of super-poyoness, i know.

You can click on the image and view it large to see how poyo I am.

I heart him.

And her.

Along the road

along lebuh armenian.

On my second visit to Penang, i fell in love again with this lively place.
I want to write more but maybe later when this loopy feeling has vanish.

harpers bazaar.

A few of my pictures that I took of KLCC's Luminary event are published in Harpers Bazaar Sept issue :D

Its nothing huge but it sure meant a lot to me. I leaped up in joy when I received the SMS from Matt on first day of puasa. MN and I rushed to the nearest magstore to get a copy. I'm all smitten and blessed :P

Thank you for my sweetheart, MN and my darling friend,Matt Marzuki for the opportunity. Thank you guys, love working with you both!

Also published is Matt's. You can see the rest of the unpublished photos of the event, here.

How's puasa so far?

I'm down with a persistent fever. It has been two weeks and it got worse last Friday. I hope i'll be alright soon.

I found a vintage travelling suitcase from the 70s. I'll spill you the details as soon as i get to scrap the pictures from my hard drive, okay?

Okay I got them pictures already!

My cat loving the bag.

You can have a look at the rest of the pictures in my flickr.

Happy Monday, folks!

before the next entry comes.

How long have i not been writing in, again?

Well, life is just too wonderful right now that i spent most of my time savouring it. I dont wanna let any moment slip away not even for a nano second.

My surprise holiday in Penang was absolutely great. MN had been so sweet to plan it purposely to celebrate my new job. The beach, the night flea market, watching sunset at the Tiki Bar, oh just about everything is so nice. I want to write a lot about this place but maybe later.

I've been hopping around from place to place to hunt for food too. I enjoyed beaches a lot nowadays. Thanks to Salmi and Muzzo for inviting me to Bagan Lalang. They had a nice seafood there but i still think Kuala Selangor tops it. The beach is decent, pretty laid back for a quiet stroll. Definitely worth an hour's drive.

*pause*

You see, i have a lot to write about. Places, people i meet, occasions, events, food, clothes or just...ya know...merely crappy rants...but..

...i just sort of lost the urge to write. Writer's block, perhaps?

It is widely thought that writer's block is part of a natural ebb and flow in the creative process, so the Wiki said, and that it could be a chronic problem. But then again, i'm just writing a blog.

A blog that doesnt mean a thing, only exists to update friends on whats going on in my atmosphere. And yea, updates nowadays could cost me a lot of things, i so happen to notice! The next thing i know, people would come to me and say 'so is she and she and she, your best friend now?' Its a weird feeling, when people assumed things outta my blog. Dang, i shouldnt have namedropping from the beginning! Tsk tsk, shame on me.

I told myself that 'Ah, perhaps its because you're no longer sad (that you dont need to pour your sadness on your blog) and that you are no longer single (places to go, parents to visit, movies to watch, friends to meet, work to do etc).' But a blog i stumbled upon on the web made me think otherwise. A mother of two from the state, still blogs whilst taking care of her babies and husband and housechores and boutique and two cute cats. Now i cant see the reason why i couldnt blog.

Perhaps, all of i've been doing (and maybe the rest of you too) was just making excuses to myself :)

this photo of tugu drum circle is a credit of han ghazi

I have quite a handful of things to do before Ramadhan comes (another excuse?) so i better get it all done first before writing my next entry!

25 percent

Another 75 percent went to family, work, errands and ideas.

I polished up my technical skills as to not waste time on the editing process. Time-savvy. My editing goes back to the most basic thing: playing with the levels. I dont even crop my pictures anymore. My brain works extra time now whenever i shoot; keeping in mind on how to compose my images and what to portray. Its much more fun!

I have to thank the 80-200. Its harder to compose my images using tele-photo. Berat satu hal, the other problem is always the d.o.f . Still, there are times i hug my wide-angle and ditch 80-200 (especially when i shoot on the street).

Being tech-y doesnt worry me, however. It certainly helps me a lot and right now, my tech-y side and creativity walks hand in hand.

Pardon my short entry. I'll try to write whenever i could!

.hurrah!.

How time flies by.

I couldn’t believe its already early July when it still feels like February with all the chilly and balmy weather outside. I remembered Che Din’s text message; ‘I wish I had a maid so that I can leave the house just this moment. Too many to clear up. But the weather is so good. I just love it.’

There’s no trace of dark clouds. I hope the weather stays like this.

I had one of the most enjoyable weekend with a lot of celebrations, great news and happy toasts. Think, I needed it so badly after being kept hostile at the office for days. Meetings, discussions, brainstorming sessions; my brain pleaded ‘may I have a rest, please?’

After much frustration on the Singapore International Photography Festival, another great opportunity approached. One of my self-portrait photos will be published and exhibited in Berlin. But that’s all I have to say about it. Just wish me lots of luck on this *cross fingers and grins*

Friday, drove myself nuts working on a deadline. I was a little girl again, drawing kiddy illustrations for a milk product. Right after work, dashed off to Phileo Damansara but before I got to the place, one very happy news ‘running’ towards me in a manner of a text message. I got a new job!

*ehem* And yours truly would be doing copywriting. Hurrahh!

Urbanscapes. I’ve never felt so gung-ho with artsy-fartsy fest – went there mainly for KLickr 24hours long photos and to see what they are selling at the marketplace (I was looking for cool-looking shades). Arrived around 2ish and oh dear, twas so hot I was sweating buckets! I expected the vendor areas to be, at least, nicely located. They were stuffy and packed whats with the boiling weather and the number of girls in funky costumes (did I just say costume?) crashing in. Gosh. I survived for 20minutes before running back into the gallery; that was after I got my hand on a gorgeous red handbag and the ONE pair of shades i want, all for rm30 by the way. Everyone was complaining about the cramp-y place and heat. Terrible!

I missed a few screenings. But I do not mind at all as I missed it for the people I love. A few friends I’ve not met for a long time dropped by to Urbanscapes to say hello. Twas so so good to meet them again! Marshee ran to hug me with a big smile and JY + Naufal have to buy tickets to get in. Teehee, thank YOU!

A big special thanks to Putri who came to me and said ‘I’m your fan!’ Such a sweetheart! So I tasted fame for 10minutes while we chatted up and she sheepishly asked ‘can I take photos with you?’

Maybe now I should start to write questions like ‘ibah zakaria, how do you feel being famous?’ in my blog and answer them myself or or wikipedia-ing my name every 5minutes. Some people do that ya know. Really pushing the envelope :P

Urgh, I seriously need to clear out my emails. And I need tostada chips real bad.

shoot off high!

click on the image for larger view.

My flickr stat for 24th June suddenly shoot off up to 233 views for the day alone! Haha!

And no, its not because of my half nude shots, silly you. People keep on viewing my street photos of late. That, and shots of my two tabby sweethearts. Thank you! Stats keeps me on track on what the viewers want to see, what they enjoy looking at the most (and no, not just nude photos. duh.) and this helps me to improve a lot. From my reference, viewers love colors with creativity injects to it. Sounds easy but very challenging indeed. Black and white is still a classic favorite, nonetheless.

Have you checked out Malaysia Street Photography - A Story in a Single Frame yet? :)

grrrreat!

L-R : Han Ghazi, MN, Matt Marzuki, Ibah

I’ve been planning my life the past few months that it drains me out a little bit. Spent a lot of time resolving a few issues. Wheww, looking at my cards I’m pretty scared to realize that there’s actually a lot of things to be done, to be accomplish, to be enjoyed before I hit the big three-oh.

It has been a slow but tough ride for me. There are quite a handful of great opportunities laid at my feet that sometimes I am totally clueless of which to pick. I missed to join the Singapore International Photography Festival due to lack of time to which i'm a bit frustrated of.

Saturday, finally managed to put my energy into good use. MN, Han, Matt and I headed to Kuala Kubu Bharu for some street shooting. It felt good walking around the quiet town once again, greeting folks in between cursing my camera. I kept forgetting to check the white balance and for a minute, I thought I’ve lost the ability to remember anything. After slurping some chendol we headed to Han family’s farm not far from the pekan.

It’s huuuugeeee. Twas pretty adventurous getting there and we were greeted by three fierce dogs barking at us like mad. They were the big farm’s guardians, mind you. Had fun sightseeing around the ranch. Felt like a kid again feeding the goats and hopping on the tractor with MN who thinks that he’s a tractor driver.

Sunday, I got my ‘thang’ planned out well for MN’s advance birthday celebration. I felt totally overwhelmed with my own table setting. Uhuu. Here’s what I did for the simple, modern English table setting at the park:

1- blue table cloth (disposable)

2- white table runner

3- matching English-looking plates and cups (also disposable)

4- white lilies matched with orchids for the centrepiece

And as for the food, I served tea, tarts, cookies and cuppycakes and special Belgian chocolates added as a gift. I forgot the rose petals, sadly.

Han called in to invite us for dinner, as she wanted to cook the ikan talapia she bought from the farm. Still very much in my ‘party-planner-with-david tutera’ mood, I offered to do her dinner table and bring in dessert. MN did the napkin while I got the candles and potpourri ready. My goodness, the dinner was superb! It was just a simple meal for four but boy, that fish sure taste great! Sedapnya Han masak! By the time dinner is finished, Lyanna was mad (but happy) for having us stuffing her tummy good!

Thank you, Han!

My little time-lapse work for 24 KL Long Photos - A KLickr project would be showcasing in the Urbanscapes on Saturday. Something to brag about? Not really, i still am sad about the SIPF thingy. LOL. But the rest of the KLickr members had done a grrreat job for the project! Big round applause for everyone! Yayyy!

the photographer and the lighting man :P

clockwise: MN, ibah, Han Ghazi, Lyanna Johan

of photography.

My best friend Salmi often reminds me of my dream job when I was in high school; to be a fighter pilot. Honestly, I myself never remember about it but it’s one of our favorite subject to mention every time we hang out. ‘Ibah nak jadi fighter pilot,’ she would often says. Me? A fighter pilot? Crazy, innit?

When I was in kindergarten, I wanted to be a painter.
When I was in primary school, I wanted to be a cartoonist.
When I was in high school, I wanted to be a fighter pilot.
When I got my first boyfriend at age sixteen, I wanted to be a writer.
When I was about to hit college, I wanted to be a fashion designer.

But now at age twenty five, I am juggling (even though struggling seems to be the better term) between two professions: designer and photographer. I am not a cartoonist or a fighter pilot nor am I a fashion designer.

Do you still remember when you’re a kid? You want to be everything. You want to be a part of this world; participate in causes, fight for your rights, dip your toe in one job and try another. But as you get older, you sail yourself towards one direction and you cruise swiftly. You know how to handle the wind and not afraid of the storm. You, shall I put it in one word; grow up.

And growth never stops. It strengthen your root, just like an oak tree.

I hope I am growing myself upward in terms of work. Branch out more skills and creativity. Looking out for the sunlight to seek development. It has been a worrying subject for me the past few months. I am lucky enough, however, to be surrounded by creative friends who have been a great help. They inspire me in their own special way. I had an interesting conversation with Adrian last Friday over fries and coke. Of future plans, of family, of religion and belief, of what we seek in life. ‘What’s your dream, Ibah?’, he asked.

The question leads me back to my memories as a kid; of all the dream jobs I wanted to be involved in. It took me a deep breath before I could answer him. As he listened to my part of stories, he smiled and told me ‘go ahead and do it.’

I wanted to believe that photography is my destiny. To be able to follow this passion of mine, even crawling, is more than fortunate for me. To be able to do it as both hobby and work, is a big bonus. I see myself as someone without any highly skill except for the basic shutter and speed knowledge. All I care about is how my end result would look like; ‘Does my photograph capture the emotions that I want to convey?’ The whole years I’ve been working on my photography skill, the vital thing I’ve learnt throughout my involvement in photography is the ability to see something beyond the generic.

This ability, is it a talent that could be mastered or is it already within oneself? I have to say, it’s a mixture of both. Nowadays, everyone can take photographs. Photos of some written words on the wall, abandon building through tall grasses, movement of people on the street; as long as one takes it using a camera, it is considered a photography. So how do you differentiate a normal photograph with an extraordinary one?

It could be the color.
Or the dramatic mono treatment.
The subject. The angle.
The one tiny piece of thing that the ordinary eyes could miss.
It could even be a blend of all of these elements.

I have spent a lot of time looking at hundreds of pictures trying to figure out the apparatus of producing a magnificent piece. I believe that one have to be genuine with photography. From the heart, through the lens and out comes undisputable real photographs. Every other things are just mechanics.

To this date, I have enjoy myself photographing all manners of things, from architectural to products shoots to nudity. From films to digital, from producing images using darkroom to experimenting with digital darkroom, I have taken great personal pleasure in all of them. I too, have gone through stages of criticism from respectable peers along the way to which I built much clearer understanding on photography.

To recount my childhood reverie of being a fighter pilot, do check out my series of catching airplanes at KLIA last weekend in my flickr. My career may not be as jet-setting, but photography remains a happy pursuit, imaginary and always a worthwhile journey.

Thelma and The Fish Tank

Yay! A new toy added into the collection; a Olympus Pen EE S bought for RM50! She’s so cool looking that I decided to name her Thelma. Imagine Thelma being a bond girl from her era. Haha. The Pen series is a family of half-frame cameras made from 1959 to beginning of the 80s and Thelma was born in 1962.

Sweet, lovely things keep popping around. Besides Thelma, MN surprised me with a fish tank yesterday. I leaped in joy when I see it sitting on the table. No fish just yet as we have to wait for the cute tiny grass to grow within two weeks time. Oh, but we already have two corals planted inside the tank. Planning to keep gold fish (mine) and ghost fish (MN’s) as pets. So cuteee lah!

MN has to keep ‘em for me at his place for the time being. Will visit ‘em fishes whenever I have the time!

chill and unwind.

Finally, a relaxing day at work! Since I got a few hours in hand before the day starts to get busy again, rummage through folders and files for photos to edit for personal use. Work is super-busy but I’m loving it everyday. I’m draining physically but I guess it comes with the work.

In between the busy schedule, I have fun unwinding with MN and Han Ghazi last week. Crashing over her place is one of my fav thing to do of late. MN and I will watch the telly while the big sister have fun editing pictures and yell ‘omg omg’.

Having Han and Elyna are like having two big sisters who’s always gonna watch my back and be my shoulder to cry on. I have two ‘big bro’s; Eka and Muzzo and to have two big sisters added in the ever growing ‘family’ is a big bonus. I’m grateful to have them in my life, especially during my roughest, toughest time.

Speaking of sisters, met my best girlfriend last night. Have not seen her in ages! Crazy event schedule kept her away from me. I miss everything about her; the silly jokes, the giggles, the gossips. Girrrrlfriends!

Chatted up with Agam and Adrian, my friends from Jakarta. They make me miss the place a lot. Gonna meet Adrian tomorrow and I might introduce Brownie to him since he loves photography. Good thing that I can now use facebook to chat with my friends from all around.

Looks like I still have a handful stuff to do for end of May before June comes knocking. I’m designing more and more stuff for my portfolio and hope to hit interviews with a strong one. I had to thank one of my dear flickr friend who has been helping me with a few recommendation to ad agencies. Such a dear soul.

Oh, June is going to be a great month! I smell road trips to Penang, White Shoes and The Couples Company’s concert in Singapore and lots of birthday celebrations coming my way. Yes, I remember your birthday, Wa.

I can’t wait for two more photo shoots with Han. It’s always great to work alongside creative people like her. I’m keeping mum but keep your eyes open on this space for news :P

I believe in good karma and laws of attraction. I’m bursting with happiness that makes me wanna stick a flower in my hair and dance around in circles. You know the feeling?

meet brownie

I have been frequenting my favorite flea market on my free weekends of late, paving my way to find interesting antiques and collectible items. It all started when MN found his old Russian camera from the Zorki series at a very reasonable price. Since then, he has been dragging me there to find more (useable) antique cameras. I just let him enjoy his moments while I look for other (useable) collectibles. I collect ancient playing cards. I have nearly 12 of ‘em in my collection now. One of my favorite is a Malaysian made cards back in the 50s with ‘Daun Terup Chop Kuda’ written on it. All this playing cards are like babies to me.

I have always been fascinated by flea markets. I told MN it almost feels like a second home for us. Being surrounded by a sea of junk while discovering hidden treasures, we never grow tired looking at things, going from one level to another.

My dear boyfriend has been spending a lot on old cameras. One of his passion that I always admire. He could spend hours and hours contentedly attend to all his camera’s need. What do you mean I feel jealous? *snorts*

I’m no collector though, most probably because:

- I don’t have the money to buy them.

- MN always see them first before I get the chance to even glance at it.

- I don’t want to strangle MN to steal the camera away from him.

- I’m just lazy, okay? It needs lots of patience to take care of all this old-school cameras. MN has it, I don’t.

Financial consideration aside, I made an exception to the rule last Saturday. I knew it for sure when MN dragged me (again) to the flea market he was actually out on the hunt again. Usually, it never really excites me to hold any old cameras. I often leave that part to MN The Expert. But there it was sitting on an antique radio looking so very cute and happy. My hand just went out to reach him and sparkles of lights flashing when we look at each other. It was love at first sight with Brownie and I. I knew it by heart that I just need to bring him home with me even if MN explodes in envy.

Isn’t he handsome?

He is a steal at only RM70 and comes with an awesome carry casing. Kodak Brownie 127, this is the first model from 1952. I totally love the retro look with cool looking brash coloured faceplate and white winding knob. It is so me! I don’t have to think much to shoot using Brownie. Brownie is still in pretty great condition, whoever the previous owner is must be a loving person ey? Brownie is the simple and inexpensive camera version made by Kodak intended to be a camera that everyone could afford to buy and use. I learnt later on that my Brownie is the rarest of the set. I’m just pretty damn lucky to have him for THAT reasonable of price. I cant argue more with the seller.

MN got a Nikon EM, me with me Brownie…we’re happy people who loves junks!

taking it easy, with poise!

This is so nice.

It’s nearly three months of living a quiet and laidback life. Carving out some alone-time is definitely worth the silence, I must say. Keep telling myself its okay to pull out the plug once in a while.

Everything is falling nicely into place and I couldn’t be having a lovelier moment than this. Alhamdullilah.

Work, however, is always tense. I’m trying to keep up with the new workload. It’s a misery that the other designer had left. Taking over a new job is not an easy task. There’s a plan of shifting to another creative environment and taking on a few advices received, I’m pretty sure a fresh working surroundings would guarantee an innovative creativity growth for me.

Surviving on lotsa happy surprises and hugs for the time being. The last surprise was my favorite hello panda fell from up above and onto my lap. Whew.

Had an awesome photoshoot last Saturday with Han Ghazi and MN. Starting the day off with lovely breakfast prepared by my sweetheart; Han and I was so eager to go out and see what we can do with ideas. We didn’t want to waste the day so we kicked start the session as early as noon. There were a lot of cheerful mood and positive energy going on that day. I can see Han and MN focusing on their creative side of things, which inspired me a lot. We waited until ideas are solidified before putting them all into action. The result was of course FANTASTIC!

I have little idea how crazy modeling could be by I do know now. Trying to steady your balance on a 3inch high heel under the hot hot sun while maintaining your poise is certainly not easy. Little fresh air, stuffy…by the end of the first session I nearly black out. I got so dizzy that I feel like I was choking my own breath. Modeling is crazy and therefore I could never see myself doing it professionally. One has to have the patience, high stamina, great personality and attitude to be able to do it perfectly.

But I’ll do it for good friends, provided they have wicked ideas *grins*

Great photoshoot, great lunch, great conversations, great dinner…by the end of the day after looking at all the awesome shots we have, I have no complaints anymore whatsoever.

Life is totally wonderful with less drama and more inspirational photoshoots.
